As an illustrator, I want to tell stories of my experiences in different fashions that are either visually pleasing or unsettling to the eye, and in ways that are open to interpretation for others. I feel my greatest strength is creating various plots in my work, without even having to mention the names of the pieces so that viewers can guess what is happening and have no right or wrong answer. Besides the general broadness of the storylines in my work, I like to include small details that hint towards the original inspiration or my own interpretation of my experiences - for example, in one of my pieces, “Misery of a Break,” I include small silhouettes of male figures that may be hard to catch at first, but when noticed, provide a small story of unimportant characters near my self-portraits, which can be interpreted in many ways, but show my feelings towards the subject matter of the drawn men’s actions to its core easily. As writing stories is another one of my passions, I feel that embodying multiple narratives in my art pieces is something I confidently bring to the table.
I have been drawing and painting physically since I can remember, and I have been drawing digitally since high school. I like to practice printmaking and fumble with sculpture, but my best practices come to conceptual design and illustration. I also have stable skills in graphic/visual communication design.
